Healthy Treats For Kids

Peanut Butter Balls (from “Making Health Choices for Kids, ” Mississippi State University)
Peanut Butter
Dry Milk (or dry soy powder)

Spoon Peanut Butter into a large bowl
Add 1/2 cup honey
Add 1 1/2 cup powdered milk ( or soy powder)
Add 1/2 cup raisins
Mix well and roll into balls
Roll balls in 1 cup crushed cereal

Bunny Salad (from Betty Crocker’s New Boys and Girls Cook Book)
Canned or fresh pears cut in half
Round cinnamon candy
Blanched almonds
Cottage Cheese

Arrange lettuce leaves on serving plate. To make bunnies, arrange pear halves open side down on bed of lettuce. For eyes, add raisins to narrowed end of pear half. For ears, insert 2 blanched almonds near eyes. For tail, add a small clump of cottage cheese close to large end of pear.
