For people who have straight or a little wave to their hair, here is a quick way to give yourself somewhat of a fancy or formal up-do for the evening or the event:

“Knotty or Nice” Up-do

1. Divide the hair into 4 sections, starting at the top of the head.

2. Once you have sectioned out the hair, take a triangle parting from the top of the head (crown area). Comb the hair straight up.

3. Next take that hair and create a knot at the base of the head. Secure the knot with bobby pins (4) wrap the remaining hair around the knot and use a hair pin or bobby to secure it.

4. Starting with the panel from the back, take it and slightly compress the hair from the base to the ends and cross it over to the left or right (whichever panel you started with) and wrap it around the knot that you created at the top. Follow the same step with the other back panel.

5. Front panel (depending on thickness of hair) will be brought back and wrapped around the knot (always securing each section with a bobby pin or hair pin to the knot). If your hair is thick then split each panel in two. On your last section, if you split the panel in two, you will cross that section over to create a crisscross effect.

For those that have curly hair or more wave to the hair, here is the perfect up-do style for you:

“Messy Bun” Up-do

1. Diffuse your hair so that you create as much curl as you can.

2. Take a pony tail holder and put your hair in a pony tail and place it at the base of your head.

3. Twist the pony tail and create a bun at the base and secure.

3. Using a wax or pomade, individually piece out the curly hair that is remaining outside the bun.

Remember have fun and use some creativity with these quick up-dos!
