2 T. vegetable oil
2 T. chopped fresh garlic
2 T. chopped fresh ginger
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 T. sesame oil
2 green onions, white part only, cut thin on diagonal
1 T. cornstarch mixed in a 1/2 cup water
Juice of one orange
Garnish: Zest of one orange, sliced green onions, sesame seeds
In a medium sauce pan, heat oil. Add garlic and ginger. Saute for 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, vinegar, honey, brown sugar and sesame oil. Cool and stir over medium heat until bubbly and sugar is melted, about 3 minutes. Add the green onions and cornstarch mixed with water, and orange juice. Whisk until sauce thickens and is glistening. Remove from heat. Pour over grilled chicken breasts, grilled chicken halves, grilled salmon fillets. Grilled pork chops, or over grilled sirloin or flank steak. Garnish with orange zest, green onions and sesame seeds.
