Human Lab: Cover Girl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation

According to ads, Simply Ageless stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles to create flawless coverage. Here’s what three Studio 5 viewers thought when they did Studio 5’s Human Lab

Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation comes in a round compact, but it doesn’t look like any foundation compact. It covers like a liquid, but goes on like powder. The container has a clear removable lid. The product is a colored foundation with two white swirls on each side. It also contains a sunscreen with an SPF of 22.

According to the company, this foundation will not make you look older like many foundations. Many times when older women use a foundation, they experience the problem of the foundation getting into the fine lines on the face and the foundation can actually accentuate wrinkles. They claim this product is different in that it contains an advanced Olay Regenerist serum (the white portion of the foundation) that helps the product stay on top of fine lines and wrinkles, making you look younger and giving flawless coverage. There are 15 different shades

Human Lab participants Myrna, JoAnn and Sheri offer their “Rate and Reveal” observations for this product:

Rate and Reveal criteria:

1=don’t waste your money

2=not yet a fan

3=like it (but wouldn’t necessarily label as a must buy)

4=really like it (product delivered on its claims)

5=loved it (it’s a great value and I would buy it in the future)

Myrna – Rates it 4

She says it applies smoothly with good coverage. Because of the condition of her skin, she needed to use more for coverage so it did the job but she needed to use more than most people might. The shades in the store don’t match your actual skin color and she had to buy another compact to fit her personal color. She felt the price was reasonable but not for what she needed … and for her it was because she had to use more. She didn’t think it affected the wrinkles on her face but it was light weight and it lasted all day

JoAnn – Rates it 4

JoAnn said that it stayed on all day and it helped to “soften” her wrinkles. It went on smoothly but had a hard time finding the right color for her. She actually tried almost the darkest color displayed at the store, but it still was too light and she had to apply a bronzer to not make her look too pale. It was easy to use and it lasted all day and she’ll probably want to buy more.

Sheri – Rates it 3

Sheri prefers a creamier make-up. She also had trouble matching her skin tone and it felt heavier than what she normally wears. For someone needing good coverage, she felt it was a good product if you can find the right shade.

She feels confident using products with the Cover Girl and Olay brands. It did cover blemishes well and though it looked good at the first of the day, for her it didn’t hold up by the end of the day. In terms of anti-aging, she felt it made her wrinkles more obvious (but it could have been the color she chose)

CoverGirl&Olay Simply Ageless Foundation is available at most drug and supermarkets between $12 and $15.
