I’ve traveled the world over, and yet, I’m always amazed at the adventure right here in our own back yard. You don’t have to go far to find them—sometimes they’re right down the street. Perhaps no other 82,168 square miles on the planet offers more fund and adventure than right here in Utah. That’s why we couldn’t resist featuring Utah in our Top 10 Summer Adventures series. Here you’ll find 10 spectacular adventures, all within minutes of your home, and all at prices you can afford. Who knew summer could be so fun?

Idea #1: Ride a Harley. Here’s your chance to hop into the saddle of an American legend and feel like the King of the Road. Once you pull back on the throttle and feel the rumble as you are propelled forward, you will realize that this is no ordinary motorcycle. Whether you wish to join your biker buddies or just feel the freedom of the open road, you’ll have the time of your life.

Idea #2: Take a Hot Air Balloon Ride. Hot air ballooning is an experience everyone should try at least once. Soar over majestic mountains and gaze into spectacular sunsets. Whether you’re up in the clouds because of adventure or romance, the sky’s the limit in a hot air balloon.

Idea #3: Go Boating without a Boat. If you love water sports, but don’t have the equipment, no worries. Let Invert Sports set you up with the latest Mastercraft boat, Jet Ski, or Waverunner. You choose the lake, they do the rest. Enjoy no hassle delivery and pickup, food services, lessons, and total vacation packages. They take care of anything so you can sit back and relax.

Idea #4: Hit the Trails on an ATV. The High Uintas are one of the most spectacular sights in Utah and there is no quicker way to see it than aboard an ATV. With nearly 400 miles of roads and trails open to ATV’s you can ride every day at the Bear River Lodge, all accessible right from your cabin door! Experience the sights and sounds of elk, deer and moose along the way. Trails range from easy to advanced.

Idea #5: Go Climb a Mountain. Climbing Hidden Peak (elevation 11,000) is no easy task, but with the Snowbird tram, getting to the summit is a piece of cake (hey, you don’t have to tell your friends you rode to the top). If you take your mountain bike, you can zip down 2,900 vertical feet of beautiful mountain terrain. Just make sure to test your brakes before you go.

Idea #6: Swim in a Natural Crater. Snorkel, scuba dive or just splash around in a crystal clear 90 degree mineral water bath at the famed Homestead Resort in Midway. This 65 foot deep natural hot springs is a must see. Make it a weekend getaway at the Homestead and enjoy golf, tennis, dining and shopping.

Idea #7: Climb Delicate Arch. You don’t have to climb like an expert to reach the top of the 60 foot Boondocks Delicate Arch (it still makes a great story and your kids will never know the difference). Test your skills on one of six climbing stations or go wild on the race track, bumper boats, or batting cages. This is the perfect Utah destination for a family adventure.

Idea #8: Take the Utah Golf Tour. Try your hand at over a dozen challenging courses, including Stonebridge’s 27 hole championship course designed by Johnny Miller. If you’re new at the sport, take lesson from a pro, enjoy some of the most beautiful settings on the Wasatch Front, or just try your hand at the putting green or driving range. Now’s your chance!

Idea #9: Go paragliding. If you’ve ever wanted to soar like a bird, now’s your chance. Fly by yourself or with a trained professional. Tandem flights are the easiest and safest way to go. Your pilot will make your flight as exciting or as mellow and relaxing, as you like. Want to fly by yourself? Believe it or not, you can be flying at a few feet off the ground with an instructor running along side within an hour or so. Spend a few hours and you can take a radio-guided flight from much higher.

Idea #10: Get a massage. For many Utahan’s who’ve never tried it, getting a massage is quite an adventure. In any case, after swimming, hiking, climbing, and soaring, there’s no doubt you’ll be ready for the healing hands of trained professional. Give it a try and melt away
