Irene Caso: How we can rely on, and help, other women in our lives

We were honored to have Irene Caso in our studio!

With an impressive career spanning Univision, the largest provider of Spanish-language content in the United States, to her current role as a media relations manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Irene Caso embodies the essence “bloom where you’re planted.” She’s the type of woman to excel wherever she is placed.

Currently, Irene Caso is gearing up to host “Luz de las Naciones” 2023, a vibrant celebration of Latin culture and heritage. This annual event, now in its 21st year, has evolved into a grand spectacle of music, dance, and artistry. With the theme “Our Land, Nuestra Tierra,” the event not only honors the rich Latino heritage but also commemorates 100 years since the first Latino members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints arrived in Utah.

You can watch the live broadcast in Spanish on Saturday, November 4, at 8 p.m. MST. English and Portuguese versions with subtitles will also be available. The live event will be recorded for on-demand viewing on broadcasts.churchofjesuschrist.org, Stream app and YouTube.

Insights from Irene Caso

Irene was recent appointment to the Young Women’s General Advisory Council of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Irene, alongside 13 other women, advises and counsels the council, fostering an environment of support, celebration, and learning. Notably, five young single adults were included on the Council, highlighting their dedication to understanding the needs of the younger generation.

One of Irene’s most relatable messages from our conversation revolves around the art of juggling multiple roles. Acknowledging the challenges women face in managing various responsibilities, such as motherhood and a professional career, Irene encourages embracing imperfection and granting oneself grace. Her metaphorical depiction of juggling balls resonates deeply, reminding women that it’s natural for a few to drop occasionally; what matters is the determination to pick them up again.

Transitioning from a successful broadcast career to a media relations manager was a daunting leap for Irene. However, her courage to embrace change stemmed from a fundamental question: “What would I regret forever if I didn’t take this opportunity?” This introspective approach empowered her to step into the unknown and flourish in her new role.
