It’s not coming out in theaters, but it’s coming to you nonetheless! Mulan is being released on Disney+ this weekend, and we can’t wait. Get your celebration right with a few essentials: food, activities, and decor. Here are some ideas you can throw together to create a fun atmosphere for your Mulan watch party.
Food
Studio 5 Producer Liana Tan has a few suggestions when it comes to the menu. Being part Chinese, and with a dad who is a chef, Liana grew up with lots of tasty food. You don’t have to be versed in Chinese cuisine to try them out though. Just run to your local grocery store and pick up a few things from the frozen section. Or, there is always good old Panda Express.
Activities
Engage the kids with a few fun activities! This fan craft from Raising Whasians is super easy. You already have the supplies, the only thing you might need are chopsticks. This paper lantern is so easy to make. You just need paper and an x-acto knife or scissors. Make a bunch of them, string them up, and they can act as some of your decor for the evening!
Decor
Set the mood for your Mulan watch party with themed decor! We love this idea from A Party Style. Grab some butcher paper and look up some Chinese characters to trace or copy. Make it say something fun! Then just lay out a generic red tablecloth, put your paper on top and you have yourself a fancy dinner table, Mulan style.
