Lasagna Pizza

1 pound ground beef
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce *
1/2 cup water *
1 package (1.5 oz) spaghetti sauce mix *
2 cups biscuit mix
1/2 cup milk
1 carton (16 oz) creamed cottage cheese
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

Brown ground beef and drain excess fat. Add tomato sauce, sauce mix, and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, while preparing crust.

Mix together biscuit mix and milk. Beat or knead 20 times. Press dough into a lightly greased 14 inch pizza pan. Spread cottage cheese on top of crust. Spread meat mixture on top of cottage cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes or until crust is cooked and pizza is hot and bubbly. Sprinkle with grated mozzarella cheese and continue to cook 2-5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Allow pizza to stand 10 minutes to allow lasagna to set. Serve with green salad and a tall glass of milk.

* Substitution suggestion – tomato sauce, water, and seasoning mix may be replaced with an equal amount of prepared sauce mix in a jar or can.

** NOTE: Just like traditional leftover pizza – this pizza is great the next day. Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours of removing from oven. Eat leftovers (if there is any) either hot or cold.
