When life gets hard, stand with your family. 5 ways to support and love in any situation

Stand with your family, especially in trying times.

It’s been a little more than two weeks since police say a Utah man shot and killed his five children, mother-in-law, and wife of 20 years before turning the gun on himself. It’s a headline still echoing in our heads and our hearts. There was a specific line from the press conference that we keep replaying. It was part of an emotional plea to the community from Enoch city manager, Rob Dotson.

He said, “If you are a praying person… pray for law enforcement. It impacts them. Pray for the family. If you’re not a religious person, care for your family, too. Stand with your family. Support them. Love them.”

We can’t stop thinking about that line: stand with your family. While we don’t know all this family was up against, and will never know, to us it came across  as a call to action for any family who is up against something hard and testing. Stand by your family.
