“My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” Premiere in Utah

Daryn Tufts, who wrote and directed the film, shares his thoughts on highlighting Utah in the film.


The film, produced and shot entirely in the state of Utah features a large Hollywood cast, including Milano, Gorham, Beau Bridges, Michael Landes, Carol Kane, and Tom Lenk. “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” was produced by Alyssa Milano, with Peace by Peace Productions and Rick McFarland, with FiftyFilms Productions out of Salt Lake City.

Daryn Tufts, a Salt Lake City local, wrote and directed the film.

“We always knew we wanted to shoot the entire movie in Utah,” said Tufts. “The whole thing is a love letter to Salt Lake.”

“My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” also partnered with the Utah Film Commission and benefited from the commission’s Utah Film Incentive Program.

“Our entire crew and much of the cast is local, and we believe the movie portrays Utah in a great light, “said Tufts. “We’re thrilled to have the movie released nationwide through WB digital, but we really wanted to give Utah residents the chance to see the it first, before anyone else. ”

Tufts is known throughout Utah for acting in local films such as “The Singles Ward” and playing the role of “ThermWise,”Questar Gas’ state-wide spokesperson. Christopher Gorham stared in the popular series “Ugly Betty” and currently plays a lead role in “Covert Affairs,” which was recently renewed for its second season on USA Network.

“My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” will open October 22nd, exclusively at Megaplex 17 at the Jordon Commons in Sandy and MegaPlex 20 at The District in South Jordan. In December, the film will play nationwide through WB Digital’s pay-per-view and VOD platforms.

The movie has also been sold to areas around the world, including Germany, Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, The Mideast, The U.K., Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Indonesia, and other areas.
