Oh Baby: Welcoming Your New Baby Chick

HOSPITAL BABY FAVORS

The arrival of a new baby is a celebration for everyone involved. Thank your special hospital guests with a simple hospital baby favor – a great way to remember this special moment and help everyone feel included. You can also have these on hand as family and friends drop by to visit those first few weeks.

“Kisses for My Peeps”

Hang on to your Easter Peeps candy! Bundle a few marshmallow chicks with a couple of Hershey’s Kisses and a tag that reads: “Kisses for My Peeps” Love, [New Baby’s Name].

“A Star is Born”

Glue 5 cotton swabs together to make a star, and then attach the star to a cellophane bag of cotton candy along with a tag that says “A Star is Born.” Include the babies name and weight.

Happy “Birth” Day

Decorate pop cans with wrapping paper. Add a label that says: Happy “Birth” Day, [New Baby’s Name]. Wrap tulle ribbon around the cans and tie at the top.

ALL DRESSED UP!

This idea is a way to help the new big brothers and big sisters feel part of the special celebration. The first time they meet there new baby is such a tender moment. Help them feel part of the day by dressing them up in their Sunday best. Going to the hospital in your prettiest dress or snazziest suit can make even the littlest family member participate (and remember!) the excitement of the day.

MY NEW FAMILY

A new baby means a new family portrait! Let big sister or big brother express their own excitement by drawing a picture of their family (and new family member) on a plain white t-shirt or sweatshirt. Purchase fabric markers at your local craft store and let the kids go to town! This would also be fun to wear to the hospital for that first “hello” between siblings and new baby.
