Vintage pieces fit perfectly in with Halloween decor.
When it comes to Halloween décor, it might even be better than the dollar store. After all, a little vintage charm speaks to the vibe of the season, making the treasures waiting on the thrift store shelves the perfect addition to your Halloween home.
Laurel Harry helped us tune our eyes to know what to look for when we’re shopping.
Look for items that work into your other décor pieces. Laurel suggested:
- Old books – the more distressed, the better.
- Paper Weights – there are lots of fun finds and glass shapes that play in well with the holiday.
- Candlesticks – mixing shapes and heights to help add variety. Candelabras are a perfect thrifted find for Halloween.
Laurel’s also says to repurpose items you find at the thrift store to fit the season.
- Create candles from any vessel.
- Add skeletons into vignettes.
- Paint houses you find (usually in pastel colors) to be haunted houses.
- Add spooky details to thrifted artwork.
To find these treasures, Laurel says you need to go often to see what’s new. She likes Deseret Industries, Savers, and The Goodwill.
