YouthLINC is a Utah based not-for-profit organization dedicated to instilling a life-time service ethic in youth. The organization accomplishes this mission through a program of both local and international service.
YouthLINC partners with the Utah State Office of Education to produce a state-wide Local Service Directory that is distributed to every upper level school and service club in Utah. Agencies included in the Directory have been recommended by youthlinc alums that have had positive experiences at the recommended sites. At these sites young people can become actively involved in serving others in a positive, mentoring atmosphere.
Through the Youthlinc program, secondary and college students earn sponsorships that pay a portion of their international trip costs to Kenya, Mexico, Peru, or Thailand through their local service commitment. YouthLINC partners with Utah Rotary, the University of Utah, Utah State University, Westminster College, businesses, foundations, and generous individuals to provide these sponsorships and the hands-on service learning that is the heart of the program.
YouthLINC also organizes an annual Utah Young Humanitarian Award program. This Award recognizes Utah secondary and college students who excel at giving back to their communities. Utah’s Young Humanitarian receives a $5000 college scholarship, and four runners-up receive $1000 Awards. This Award program is sponsored annually by Chase.
