Bread Bowls
1 loaf Rhodes bread dough, thawed but still cold
(Can use whole wheat or white loaves. Three 2 ounce rolls [Texas whole wheat, white, cracked wheat, or multi grain] can also be used.)
1 egg beaten
Cut loaf into thirds. Form each third into a ball. Place on baking sheet sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Brush with egg. Cover loosely with non-stick sprayed plastic wrap. Allow to rise until double in size. Remove wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and slice off top. Hollow out bread bowl leaving ½ inch shell. Fill with favorite dip, stew, or chowder.
For larger bowls cut thawed loaf in half our use entire loaf. Bake time will need to be slightly increased.
Southwestern Superbowl Dip
2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
1 cup salsa
Bread Sticks and fresh veggies
In a bowl, combine sour cream and salsa. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Serve in Rhodes Bake-N-Serv Bread Bowl surrounded with crisp bread sticks and fresh veggies for a healthy Superbowl treat.
Individual Pizza
12 Rhodes Texas Rolls, thawed and room temperature (Makes 12 pizzas)
Your choice of assorted toppings such as: Chopped green peppers, green onions, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Cooked bacon bits, pineapple tidbits (drained), grated cheeses, chopped tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, diced ham
Flatten each roll into a 5-inch circle. Place circles on baking sheets sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Add selected toppings and bake at 350 degrees 15 to 20 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned and cheeses are melted. Enjoy! (This is a great crowd pleaser. Everyone gets to “make” their own pizza!)
