Root beer… as a dye?! These DIY coffee filter leaves are the perfect fall neutral

Glue coffee filter leaves to some branches for chic, organic looking fall décor.

We are seeing a shift in the fall color palette this year. Instead of bold and dark, we’re reaching for neutral and light! With those hues in mind, this coffee filter project ups the ante on the décor front. Turn a box or two of coffee filters into fall leaves in all sorts of airy colors.

Brandon and Mike Kay share how they pulled off this project. They used several different methods to dye their filters. Root beer, grape soda, even Kool Aid! They give your leaves a cool effect, and add a natural look to the whole collection. Brandon and Mike also share how to give them a veiny texture.
