Sabayon Sauce & Strawberry Sauce


Sabayon Ingredients:
5 egg yolks
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 cup white wine
1 cup Triple sec


Combine all of the above ingredients in a double boiler. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring every 20 seconds. Chill. Pour over vanilla ice cream that has been topped with fresh berries.

Strawberry Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 can frozen strawberries
  • 1/3 cup of cherry juice (grenadine)
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced

    Method:

    Blend frozen berries and cherry juice in an electric blender for 30 seconds. Add fresh sliced berries. This sauce will be used to pour over your strawberry shortcake.
