Italian waffles are a great choice for Valentine’s dinner, especially when they’re heart shaped!
Breakfast for dinner takes on a whole new meaning with these savory waffles! Pull in classic Italian flavors, add them to thawed dinner rolls, shape them like a heart and just like that you’ve got a sweetheart’s dinner for the whole family.

Italian Waffles

Ingredients
- 12 Rhodes Yeast Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
- 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/3 cup shredded fresh Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- pepperoni minis
- pizza sauce
Instructions
Spray counter lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Flatten each roll into a 5-6 inch circle.
In a medium bowl, combine cheeses, basil, oregano, and pepper flakes. Place about 1/3 cup cheese mixture in the middle of 6 of the dough circles. Top with 10-12 pepperoni minis. Brush edges of dough with water. Place remaining 6 dough circles over the cheese filling. Press edges together to seal and place in the center of a waffle iron heated to medium heat.
Cook for about 2 minutes. Serve with warm pizza sauce.
