Shark Week Preview


Is it fascination or fear? Somehow every kid is driven to get up close to a shark.

There is one rare chance to do that in early August, when it is Shark Week at The Living Planet Aquarium.

What: In celebration of Shark Week, visitors will learn the difference between fact and fiction about sharks as we explore the life cycle of these amazing animals and debunk the myths surrounding them. Discover what a massive prehistoric shark mouth looks like. Learn about incredible shark adaptations, laugh at a fun puppet show, design your very own shark hat, and best of all, touch live sharks! While you’re at the aquarium be sure to enter for a chance to win a Discovery Channel back pack full of FIN-tastic prizes!

A fun show with live animals, including reptiles, birds and creepy crawlies. Learn about shark adaptations and dive into what it is really like to be a shark!

Who: Presented by The Living Planet Aquarium. The Living Planet Aquarium is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to inspire people to explore, discover and learn about Earth’s diverse ecosystems.

Important Note: The Sandy location will be open until September 10, 2013 to allow for transition into the new Aquarium which is scheduled to open December 2013.
