Snacks for Kids

Wise Owl Sandwiches:
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
dash red pepper
8 multigrain bread slices (elongated is best)
4 leafs of lettuce
4 slices deli ham
4 square slices Swiss cheese
8 slices pineapple, well drained (reserve juice)
black olives

Wise Owl Sandwiches

Combine mayo, mustard and red pepper. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons juice from pineapple slices.

Spread one side of bread with mayo mixture. Place one lettuce leaf on 4 slices bread; place one
slice of ham and one slice cheese on lettuce (turn cheese slice so corners hanging off middle of
bread slice to create owl beak). Place 2 slices of pineapple on each slice of cheese to create eyes.

Cut olive in half and place in center of each pineapple ring. Enjoy as an open face sandwich or
when ready to eat, place second slice of bread on top.
