Make your own advent calendar this year!

The advent calendar is a time-honored tradition to anticipate the countdown to Christmas. Create your own with a simple DIY that is both easy and inexpensive!

SUPPLIES

  • Paper gift box gingerbread houses
  • Cardstock or wood to stick numbers on
  • Mod Podge – matte or satin
  • Glitter
  • String for hanging

Optional Embellishments

  • Glitter hot glue sticks, Amazon
  • Silicone heart mold, Amazon
  • Gift wrap tissue (for roof)
  • Mini wreaths
  • Mini gingerbread people
  • Ribbon
  • Ric rac

METHOD

  1. Apply Mod Podge to the gingerbread house & apply glitter.
  2. After Mod Podge is dry, add embellishments.
  3. Weave string through pre-made holes in the houses.
  4. Hang – stair railing, mantle, on a Christmas tree, across shelving, or around a doorway/window.
