Holiday outfits aren’t complete without accessories!
The accessories can make or break an outfit… we’ve heard that before. But right now, there are a few jewelry trends that really will stand out and update your look in an instant.
Sydney Bledsoe, with Pip Pop Post Jewelry, shared how easy it is to take an outfit to the next level with jewelry.
Bows
Bows are not just for wrapping presents; they are a still-trending accessory that add a playful element to any outfit. Sydney mentioned, “They’re going to be on the Christmas trees, they’re in the house decor, they’re on the shirts, the sweaters, the dresses, the shoes… and jewelry.” You can find bows in various pieces, and they are the perfect motif for your holiday wardrobe.
Everyone wonders, “Am I too old for a bow?” Sydney said no. “It’s delicate but it makes it a fun outfit. So although it can be youthful and childish, I just think it makes it more playful,” she emphasized.
Gems and Stones
For those fancier holiday events, gems and stones are an elevated way to dress up your outfit. “The gem colors when you pull in an accessory are beautiful, they’re rich, and they just really elevate that outfit,” Sydney said.
Gems and stones add a touch of elegance and sophistication without a lot of effort. “The colors just compliment any other color so naturally and easily that I think they just make an outfit stunning and just gorgeous,” Sydney emphasized.
Pearls
Pearls are making a strong comeback and we’re seeing them everywhere. Sydney loves pearls, and said, “I am like a jeans and tee and pearl kind of girl. I love pearls.” They can be worn with casual outfits to add a touch of class, or with a more formal look to give it that little bit of extra.
You don’t have to splurge on real, even faux pearls can make a big statement. “Fake are just fine. Real are great, but I love the fake pearl look. It just kind of makes it pop a little bit more,” Sydney said.
Charms
Charms are a trendy way to personalize your jewelry. Charm bracelets used to be all the rage, and now we’re seeing them making a comeback in earrings and other accessories. “It’s such a conversation starter anytime I’m wearing my charms,” Sydney said.
Adding charms to your existing jewelry can make it feel new, perfect for the holiday season. “It transitions the outfit to the holiday because you can easily interchange them,” Sydney explained. “It makes the outfit for each holiday or season.”
Mixing Metals
Mixing metals was once considered a fashion don’t. Now, it’s a stylish way to add an edgy element to your look. Sydney encouraged mixing silver and gold, saying, “It adds an edgier element, but I think that it’s really fun.” This gives you more creativity and flexibility when picking out accessories, making it easier to match your jewelry with any outfit. “I wear mixed every day,” Sydney said.
“What I love for the mixed metals is the darker tones,” she emphasized. “I feel like it just makes those metals pop. So if you’re going to a party wearing a black dress and adding the mixed metals that way, I think that makes it pop a lot.”
