Style File: Bordeaux

Move over maroon! Bordeaux is one of fall’s freshest colors, and is the perfect way to transition into the new season.

Fashion blogger Rachel Parcell of “The Pink Peonies” breaks down how to wear Bordeaux.

One of the fall’s freshest colors of the season is Bordeaux, a luxe shade of reddish brown, it varies in tone. We saw it all over the runway at fashion week and we’re seeing it pop-up everywhere from pants, jackets, accessories, cosmetics…You name it, it there. In fact, it’s so hot right now that we’re seeing the color act as a neutral as we make the transition into fall.

There are so many way’s to incorporate this color into our wardrobes!

GO BIG WITH BORDEAUX

The colored pant trend is sticking around for fall; we’re just seeing it in deeper tones.

This is a great look to wear because they’re versatile, they look great on any shape, It’s more wearable than some of the colors we saw for summer, but still a bold statement.

I found this pant at H&M for only $29.95 but you can this same style at any price point right now, they’re everywhere.

I paired it with this tailored blazer and bright blouse to add some color and shape. I also went ahead and threw on this scarf in Boudreaux that is also playing with the polka dot trend. This J.Crew scarf adds an extra element to the look and pulls it all together. You can wear it dressed up or down and it’s perfect for fall.

WEAR IT AS A NEUTRAL

Typically when we think of leather jackets, we think black or brown but this season we’re thinking Bordeaux. It’s such a fun alternative from the leather jackets we’ve seen in past seasons.

This trend is one I’m really excited about! It adds a little more color to your look while still keeping it neutral. It’s sleek and can be worn so many ways with so many different colors.

I paired it with a classic pair of black pants and a basic tee. I love this look because you can wear out running errands, dressed down with flats, or for the night with some heels.

I found this jacket at H&M for $49.95 it’s faux leather but looks like the real deal. It’s a must for fall.

GET COZY WITH BORDEAUX

If you’re still not ready for the bold colored skinny trend or the leather jacket, Incorporate Bordeaux into your wardrobe with a classic sweater.

This is a great trend to hop on board for. It’s timeless and who doesn’t love a great sweater?

I choose this sweater because it’s a tailored silhouette, has that basic crew neck we all love and again, plays with the polka dot trend that’s so hot right now and the navy compliments it so well.

This J.Crew sweater looks great pulled over this peplum dress, a perfect, on trend, dressed up look.

SAY YES TO THE DRESS

We all love a great dress and here we see the color-blocking trend is still happening for fall.

This dress from Target at $24.99 is a great buy because it gives the look of a skirt and a blouse without you doing the work to find a coordinating top.

The silhouette is flattering to every shape. I paired it with a denim jacket, which was seeing pop up again. It’s a perfect look that has the right balance of sophisticated and casual and I love the feminine detail on the top. It’s a great buy.

ACCESSORIZE WITH BOURDEAX

For those of you feeling like you’re not quite ready to commit to the trend with article of clothing, incorporate into your wardrobe with accessories. It’s cheap and an easy way to stay on trend with out heavily investing in it.

Here I took a basic look that we all have in our closets, a skit, blouse and cardi. I added a skinny belt and necklace that gives it a pop and easily keeps you right on trend.
