Sweet Appetizers

Berry Bruschetta
Perfect for your 4th of July brunch or dessert. Ready in only 20 minutes!

1 loaf french bread
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
8 0z. pkg. softened cream cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. strawberries hulled and sliced
1/2 cup fresh blueberries (optional)
1/8 cup slivered almonds
dust of powdered sugar

1. Slice French bread into 10 slices, 1 inch thick. Then place bread slices on a baking sheet.
2. Brush butter on one side of bread. Combine sugar and cinnamon together then evenly sprinkle over buttered bread.

3. Broil in oven on 500 degrees for 2 minutes. Take out of the oven and cool to the touch.
4. Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla together then whisk together until all lumps are gone.
5. Spread 1 tbsp. cream cheese mixture over the top of each slice of bread.
6. Place strawberries and blueberries as desired.

7. Top with slivered almonds and a dust of powdered sugar.

Stuffed Strawberries
8 oz. Pkg cream cheese (at room temperature)
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
the zest of 1 orange or tangerine
1/8 cup chocolate bar shavings (opt)

1. Wash and dry strawberries. Cut tops off strawberries so they will lay flat. Place each strawberry upside down with end pointing in the air.
2. Use a small knife to cut and X shape mid way through the end of each strawberry. Arrange strawberries on serving tray to be filled.
3. In a separate bowl combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Blend on high speed until cream cheese is smooth.
3. Place cream cheese mixture in a plastic bag. Use scissors to cut one end of the plastic bag.

4. Begin piping 1 tbsp. cream cheese mixture into each strawberry. Repeat until all strawberries are filled.
5. Drizzle with chocolate syrup then top with orange zest and chocolate shavings.

Keep refrigerated until serving
