At the Blue Cockatoo and Reflective Art Studios you can find all sorts of recycled products.


Confetti Bowls –

Artisans from the Philippines hand-cut magazine pages into confetti, strips and zig zag pieces, then paper mache them to form a bowl or basket. Each piece is one of a kind.

Recycled Metal Bowls and Trays –

A 55-gallon barrel once holding evaporated milk has been reconstructed into metal bowls and trays.. Made in the Philippines.

Recycled Metal Yard Art –

Flip Flop Mats & key chains –

Made by hand with scrap foam rubber and galvanized metal wire. The scrap from flip flop sandal factories would have otherwise become waste in landfills. The color always varies due to the source of the material. They are very colorful and durable and look great on any doorstep. Washington based company.

Bird Feeders –

These are made out of recycled glass and hand blown by artisans in Mexico. Very cute and colorful. A Denver based company.

Boxes –

Made from broken Indian bangle bracelets. Otherwise thrown away. Very colorful, cute, and bright.

Recycled Rice Bag Bags –

Made from recycled rice and fish food bags. Several styles, from totes to purses. Free trade made in Cambodia

Recycled Can Lanterns –

Hanging stars and table top lanterns.
Made from unused cans

Chopsticks –

Made from recycled paper. Cute, bright colors. Dishwasher safe. Made in Japan.

The Blue Cockatoo has been a landmark in the 15th and 15th neighborhood for over 10 years. Owned by Jennifer Pia, grew up and still lives just blocks from her store. Whenever possible, she sells handmade products made by local artists and artists in the United States. I also sell products made from recycled materials by companies who are conscientious about our global environment.
