Make the classic Disneyland treat into a delicious Dole Whip cake!
We all know the sweet taste of a Disney Dole Whip, or its Utah copy cats. That flavor profile is perfect to make into a cake! We’re not getting too fancy with this recipe – it’s made in a sheet pan! It is the perfect dessert to whip up at the end of a busy summer day.
Michelle Malie shares how to infuse the cake, and the frosting, with all the pineapple goodness. To make it even easier, you can just reach for a box mix! Add in all the Dole Whip flavors for a nostalgic treat.

Pineapple Dole Whip Cake
Ingredients
- Yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 1 stick softened butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 8 oz crushed pineapple (with juice)
- 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix all ingredients together with an electric mixer. Mix for 2 minutes. Pour batter into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cake cool completely before frosting. Store in the refrigerator.
Dole Whip Frosting
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-2 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 4 cups powdered sugar
Directions
Cream together butter, vanilla, and cream. Beat with an electric mixer for 1-2 minutes. Add pineapple juice and slowly add powdered sugar. Once all ingredients are incorporated, mix for another two minutes until frosting is creamy. Frost on top of your favorite sugar cookies, cakes, or cupcakes!
