UCCU: Invest in America

Sara Parker, from Utah Central Credit Union, explains how the Invest in America program can save you money.

If you’re looking to find bargains when buying glasses or contact lenses, vacationing at resorts, hiring an attorney, paying for pet food or vitamins, there’s now a place that offers these amazing discounts not just once in awhile – but all the time.

It’s called “Invest in America” and is being offered by thousands of credit unions across the country, including Utah Central Credit Union in Salt Lake. It works because it takes the buying power of tens of millions of Americans and leverages that power with some of the biggest name brands in the country to achieve phenomenal savings.

Members get preferred pricing when buying a new car; save 10-15% on a cell phone bill, get automatic discounts on cable TV, and never pay full price when buying flowers or using a moving van. And then, receive cash rebates when shopping at any of 1,200 brand name stores across America.

It started at the end of 2008 – and was triggered by a group of credit unions in the Midwest who were feeling the effects of a tough economy. When the recession went from bad to worse, these credit unions decided that it was time to find more ways that members could save so they created Invest in America.

Anyone can join by going to www.lovemycreditunion.org. Don’t forget that members can also find deals on everything from Lasik surgery, to home repair services, gym memberships and health and wellness products. It’s great for last minute Christmas shopping or any time of the year.
