Cupid’s Mix Popcorn
10-12 cups popcorn
6 ounces white melting chocolate
2 ounces red melting chocolate
2 ounces pink melting chocolate
1/4 cup Valentine sprinkles
2 cups Valentine M&Ms
Place popcorn in a large bowl. Remove any un-popped or partially popped kernels.
Place melting chocolate in microwave safe bowls. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Stir and repeat until completely melted. Pour melted white chocolate over popcorn and stir to coat. Spread onto parchment lined baking sheet. Immediately add sprinkles on top. Drizzle with melted pink and red chocolate. Sprinkle M&Ms on top. Allow to cool and break apart. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
Sweet Heat Popcorn
¼ cup canola oil
½ cup popcorn kernels
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. chipotle chili pepper powder
Place a 3-4-quart pot on a stovetop and pour in ¼ cup oil. Be sure to use oil with a high smoke point such as peanut or canola oil. Drop 3 kernels into the pot. Place the lid on top. If the lid has a vent, open it to allow steam to escape. Heat the pot on medium-high heat. Listen for the kernels to pop.
When all 3 kernels have all popped, quickly pour in popcorn kernels, sugar and chipotle powder. Replace the lid and shake the pot back and forth to coat the kernels with oil. The pot will be very hot! Please protect your hands.
Once the popping starts, gently shake the pot back and forth over the burner. When the popping slows, remove from heat and immediately pour into a serving bowl. Allow to cool. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
