Whole Ginger Garlic Catfish


1 two pound cleaned catfish, whole
6 pieces fresh ginger, thin sliced
6 pieces garlic, thin sliced
½ cup flour
salt and pepper to taste


Put 3 cuts in the side of the catfish and stuff with 1 slice per cut of the ginger and garlic. Add salt and pepper to the flour and roll the catfish in the flour. Deep-fry the fish in 325-degree oil for 6 to 8 minutes.

Sauce Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced
  • 3 slices fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • juice of one orange

    Method: Bring all of the above ingredients to a boil. Pour over catfish and serve. Serves one.
