It’s so easy to make toast, so make it the main dish!

Toast to the happy couple—with toast! Toast is the simplest recipe of all, but it doesn’t have to be basic. 

Amy Richardson shared a bridal shower idea that lets each guest build on the bread and butter. A toast bar is the perfect way to toast the happy couple.  

Guests can top their toast with their individual pick. The spread beckons with an array of choices: creamy avocado, crunchy pistachios, juicy fruits, velvety peanut butter, and vibrant berries. But the star of the show? Whipped ricotta.

Amy insists that whipped ricotta is all the rage right now. Pair it with fruit and honey for a sweet take, or herbs, vegetables and orange oil for a savory side. Here’s how to create it:

Sweet Whipped Ricotta

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups whole milk ricotta
  • 2 teaspoons heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Dash of salt

METHOD

  1. Whip together all ingredients and chill until ready to use.

 

Sweet Bridal Blackberry Toast

For a bridal shower twist, assemble a plate of Sweet Bridal Blackberry Toast:

  1. Start with a hearty slice of your favorite bread.
  2. Slather it generously with the whipped ricotta.
