10 New Mom Must-Haves

Sure, there are the basics: diapers, wipes and onesies. But just in times for
those Spring baby showers, new mom Lyndsi Frandsen shares ten must-
haves every new mom needs!

1. Diaper Caddy

Someone gifted me a diaper caddy that was full of diapers, wipes, burp
cloths, etc. – and I re-write a thank-you note to them, every day in my
head. It’s a really great gift because you can just grab the caddy and move
it with you from room to room. You wouldn’t even necessarily need to buy
a caddy – a cute basket would work, too! I bought 2 baskets to match my
bedroom and living room and filled them with diapers, wipes, binkies,
sanitizer, etc. so that everything I need is right there in the room – not
scattered all over the place.

2. Sleep Sheep

The Sleep Sheep has basically become part of our family and travels with us
wherever we go! This soft stuffed animal just attaches onto baby’s car seat
and plays 4 different noises (whale, stream, rain, ocean) that create white
noise, and help her sleep. There are a lot of different types of sound spas
that you can get for your baby but this one is darling!

3. Sophie the Giraffe

We haven’t had to use this yet because Charlotte has not entered the
teething phase, but I have been told by numerous people that this little guy
is a lifesaver. The giraffe’s long legs reach the back of your baby’s gums
and they can chew on the soft body to get relief from the pain.

4. Aden and Anais Swaddling Blankets

These blankets are life savers and part of the reason that Charlotte sleeps
through the night. When you swaddle your baby in a regular blanket, it is
bulky and eventually they can wiggle their way out. These blankets are
somewhat stretchy, really lightweight and breathable, and they are secure
so when Charlotte wakes up at night, she can’t wiggle her way out and
usually just falls back to sleep.

5. Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail

This diaper pail has been really nice to have because there is baking soda
in the cap and it releases some every time you close the lid. This has
helped our house to smell good (despite all the diapers – and, oh, are there
diapers!), and it’s nice to have one central place to the diapers (all 20 of
them!), instead of having to run them outside every single time.

6. Burt’s Bee’s Baby

This stuff is amazing! I was hesitant to use it at first because I LOVE the
smell of freshly baby-lotioned babies, but this has such a soft, sweet honey
smell to it and it is so yummy!

7. Laundry Hamper

This wasn’t a gift I received, and it may sound sill, but it’s something that I
hadn’t thought of before having Charlotte. I just went and bought a darling
hot pink basket from Hobby Lobby (50% off) and stuck it in her room.
Whenever she has dirty laundry (which is numerous times a day!) I just
throw her clothes in the basket. It is so nice to not have to worry about
separating her laundry from ours. Her stuff is so tiny that I was getting
socks and other things mixed into ours. It would be a really cute gift and
you could stick baby hangers, Dreft baby detergent, and other things
inside!

8. Shoe Socks

LOVE THESE! It is hard to find shoes that fit newborn babies, and it is an
even bigger pain to try and get them to stay on. I basically dress Charlotte
in these type of socks every single day. They are too cute. And I just found
this website that has DARLING ones! (We’re talking, flip flop socks that have
fake little toes on them!)

9. Shutterfly Gift Card

I have LOVED using the gift card on Shutterfly. It has been so fun to be able
to print our pictures and make different things on the website.

10. Homemade Burp Cloths

Ok, so the very best burp cloths to use are the ones that the hospital has
(the thick, plush, white ones). But let’s be honest, they’re not the cutest
things in the world. I received some jazzed up ones as a gift and have loved
them! They just had funky fabric sewn down the middle and are SO cute!
