Make your own natural mosquito repellent.
Sunshine, pool days, barbeques, and travel. Summer is nearly perfect… if it wasn’t for the mosquitoes.
Consumer educator Teresa Hunsaker shares how to repel the mosquitoes in natural ways.
Place the following ingredients into a large glass container (plastic can be used, but the odors of the lemon and rosemary may be permanently infused into the plastic).
- One large lemon with a heavy rind sliced paper thin.
- One Tablespoon of crushed fresh Rosemary sprinkled over the lemon slices.
- Pour 32 ounces of near-boiling water over the lemon and Rosemary.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cover with a clean cloth and let the liquid “steep” for 10-15 hours. After the “steeping” time, pour the liquid through cheesecloth into a clean quart size canning jar, (squeeze out as much liquid as possible), cover and store in the refrigerator. Pour and use approximately 4-6 ounces at a time into a spray bottle with a fine mist applicator. Spray liberally over skin and clothes. Avoid contact with the eyes.
