What is the Senior Expo?

The Senior Expo is Utah’s premier exhibition event where you can Explore,
Learn, and Connect with resources to assist those navigating the transitions
of aging. This two-day exposition will be held Thursday and Friday
September 29-30, 2011 at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy.
Admission is Free to the Senior Expo because of generous contributions by
our sponsors.


This is a fun, informative, high quality event featuring a vast array of
exhibitors, sponsors, products and services, seminars, workshops,
activities, entertainment, raffles and drawings.

Exhibitors will be providing information on: housing, legal issues, volunteer
opportunities, voting, social security, medication, Medicare, physical
therapies, safety and medical equipment, travel, health related issues,
home care, hospitals, nutrition, education, physical fitness, hospices,
health testing, cultural activities, nutrition, finance, real estate, senior
support programs of all kinds, and more for seniors and family members
providing care for their loved ones

Who should attend the Senior Expo?

This event is for EVERYONE, because we will all care for someone we love as
they navigate through aging. The expo is a place where people who are
currently caring or will soon be caring for an aging loved one can learn
what options they have and what they should be prepared for. Senior can
come and take advantage of many free health screenings, hands on
exhibits & demos and plenty of entertainment.

Event Highlights:

· Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon Pancake Breakfast Free to the
first 1,000 senior attendees on Friday 8:30 am – 10:30 am. Entertainment
provided by The Rod Archibald String Quartet and Old Time Fiddlers.

· StoryCorps – in conjunction with KUER, providing opportunities to
record, share and preserve the stories of our lives.

· New & Improved Hands on Exhibits

· Risk Assessment Modules

· Healthy Living Pavilion – Cooking and Exercise Demos

· Entertainment

· Interactive and Informational Seminars including the Intermountain
Healthcare Educational Series, “Fighting Fraud – How not to get scammed”
and AARP’s “Protecting Social Security and Medicare”.

· Key Note Speaker Dr. Carol Masheter – Author of “No Magic Helicopter:
an Aging Amazon’s Climb of Mount Everest” at age 61. Thursday Hall Stage
at 5:45 pm
