Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal is one of the most popular and safest ways to remove an unwanted tattoo. The laser uses high energy that passes through the areas without pigment and is absorbed by the pigmented area where it then releases its energy; the particles of pigment are then broken up allowing the body to remove them through normal cellular activities. Because tattoos generally involve more than one color, different settings are used to help break up the pigment. Offering 3 separate laser wavelengths, our laser is able to effectively treat all colors of tattoos giving the most effective laser treatment. The most common, although rare, side effect of laser tattoo removal is a slight lightening or darkening of the skin in the tattooed area.

What to expect:

Alpine’s Aesthetician will start out by asking you a series of questions and examining the area you wish to be treated. Depending on your individual skin type and your tattoo she will be able to let you know if you are a good candidate for tattoo removal.

The laser tattoo removal treatments vary in time depending on the area and size of tattoo. We offer local injections to ease any discomfort you may have during your treatment. After your treatment the area will be wrapped and an ointment will be applied to promote healing. The area will scab up over the next few days as it begins to heal.

Because all tattoo have individual variations in depth, technique and colors removal is very specific for each patient. These differences make each treatment somewhat variable from the next and no tattoos are treated the same. Tattoos require more than one treatment to be successfully removed and treatments are typically scheduled in 4 to 8 week intervals. Because of our aesthetician’s experience she will be able to give you an estimate on the number of treatments you will need.
