Babysitting Co-ops

Studio 5 Contributor, Ashley Kewish tracked down a group of Provo moms who have found a way to save time and money on childcare by starting their own babysitting co-op. Here are some suggestions if you’re thinking of starting one too.

• Try to have children that are around the same age. This way they can enjoy the same kinds of activities and play
together.

• Set a minimum age limit. Is your group going to be ok watching a 6 week old baby?

• Mind the clock! Try to limit it to no more than about 2 ½ hours. After that both kids and moms start to run out of steam.

• Set a geographic limit. This way members arent spending extra time traveling.
