Back to the Dinner Table: 5 Meals That Use Only 5 Ingredients

It’s about time we got back to the dinner table. Have a good meal, some good conversation, and spend that quality time with family. It all starts with the perfect recipe. One that is equal parts delicious and easy to make!

Ranch Chicken Wrap

Ingredients

  • Chicken tenders
  • Grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • Home style ranch dressing
  • Fresh tortillas
  • Shredded cabbage or romaine lettuce

Directions

Cook the chicken tenders according to package directions. Prepare the tortillas- war on both sides. Assemble your wraps. Place a tablespoon of ranch dressing on your tortilla, and then the hot chicken, a sprinkle of the cheddar cheese and top with the lettuce or cabbage. Wrap like a burrito and serve warm.

 

Not your mom’s Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef stew meat
  • 1 cup Marsala wine or red grape juice
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup sour cream, or heavy cream
  • 1 lb. home style noodles, cooked
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp . dried basil or basil paste

Directions

In your crock pot, add the stew meat, Marsala wine or red grape juice, mushrooms, salt, bay leaf and basil. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Add the sour cream or heavy cream just before serving. Serve over home style noodles or rice.

 

Pizza Mac n Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 box macaroni and cheese, prepared
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup Monterey jack or mozzarella cheese grated
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 lb. sausage, cooked and browned
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning

Directions

Prepare your macaroni and cheese per package directions. Set aside. Brown and cook the sausage, set aside. Then assemble your mac n cheese pizza. Pour the prepared mac n cheese into a oven proof skillet, that has been greased or buttered.

Then top with the crushed tomatoes. Sprinkle the Italian seasoning on top of the tomato sauce. Spread out an even layer. Then top with grated cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. Bake for 15 minutes, until cheese is melted and pepperoni is browned. Serve warm.

 

Cheeseburger foil dinner

Ingredients

  • 8 pieces of foil (large square 8”x8”)
  • 4 – ¼ lb. hamburger patties
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 large potatoes, washed and cut into wedges, partially cooked
  • Dill pickles, or pickle relish Tomato Jam http://wendypaulcreations.com/tomato-jam/
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
  • Kosher salt
  • Steak seasoning

Directions

Preheat your oven or grill to 400 degrees.

Double up your foil pieces, 2 for each meal you are making. In the center of the foil square, layer 3 potato wedges, sprinkle the potatoes with a little kosher salt and steak seasoning. Then place a hamburger patty. Season with a pinch of salt and some steak seasoning. Then layer the cheese. Close and seal the foil packets, on the ends, then again, making an envelope. Place the packets on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the meat is cooked through. Or place the packets on the grill, and cook for 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees.

Carefully open the packets, they will be hot. Top with pickles, shredded lettuce and tomato jam or ketchup.

 

Braised Mediterranean Chicken Skillet

Ingredients

  • 4-6 chicken thighs, boneless, skinless
  • 1 cup green olives
  • 3 cups fingerling potatoes
  • 1 sweet onion, diced
  • 3 lemons
  • Kosher salt
  • Smoked paprika
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

In a large oven-proof skillet, preheat over medium high heat. Season the chicken breasts with kosher salt, smoked paprika, and some flour on each side. Add 2 tbsp. olive oil to the skillet, and brown the chicken on both sides, until crispy and dark golden. Then remove the chicken, and add the diced onion, fingerling potatoes and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Then add the chicken back in and also the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer. Then add the 3 lemons, cut in half. Then add 1 cup green olives.

Place your skillet into the oven, and bake fore 30 minutes, until the juices run clear and the potatoes are fork tender. Serve.
