In this day and age children are learning how to navigate the web sooner than you would think, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! There are plenty of fun and educational options when it comes to websites. Here are a few that we recommend for your children:

Starfall (www.starfall.com)

Starfall is a great online service that helps children learn to read at no charge! With sound features of the whole alphabet available with every activity, your child can hear and see each word. Starfall offers storybooks, Chinese fables, comics, nonfiction and many more to further and improve your child’s reading ability.

ABC Ya (www.abcya.com)

ABC Ya is an easy-to-use, child friendly website. It’s organized by learning ability for kids in K-5. ABC Ya challenges kids through a variety of different games, activities, and puzzles. They also offer a great and fun way to learn Spanish for grades 2-5. ABC Ya is a free website to give your children an extra after school activity.

PBS Kids (www.pbskids.org)

PBS offers educational games that kids will want to play. Children can learn about nutrition, explore their creativity, and solve problems about real life situations with their favorite PBS TV stars. The website is free to use, and offers hours of educational entertainment.

IXL (www.ixl.com)

Some children can struggle with math, but the free educational website IXL can help make math easy and understandable. By offering fun and engaging activities, IXL is able to present math to children in a way that they can easily learn. IXL has activities for students in K-8 math classes as well as Algebra and Geometry. This website will walk your child through the mathematical steps they may not understand.
