You can book a cruise NOW for fall break! Here’s the scoop on last-minute travel deals…

It’s not too late to go on vacation for fall break!

It’s about a month away, and if you haven’t made plans yet, we’re hooking you up with some huge deals on several fall break vacation options.

Kamree Price, from Our Family Passport, shared four specific fall break recommendations, from discounted airfares to last minute cruise deals.

Kamree emphasized the importance of planning ahead, but also highlighted the potential for last-minute deals. “Especially if you’re traveling with a family, I like to recommend booking early. But, there are some last minute deals to be had, and that’s what we’re going to focus on,” she said.

Cruise Deals

Kamree said that cruises are a “sweet spot in the travel world” for last-minute deals. She mentioned, “Royal Caribbean is offering some discounts on already discounted cruises. We’re talking 60% off second guest and kids sail free.” Short break cruises departing from LA are a particularly good option since families can drive to the port and save on airfare.

Short break cruises are a shorter amount of time, about four to five days. “These ones from LA go up into Canada or down towards Mexico,” Kamree explained.

“Food is included, obviously. There may be other expenses if you do excursions, but because these are in California or up in Canada, you don’t even have to do those,” Kamree said. “You can go and explore on your own and just enjoy because you’re in your comfort zone and you can navigate on your own.”

Airfare Savings

Kamree shared a secret about Delta’s seasonal deals website, which offers significant discounts. “Delta doesn’t publish these very much. You have to dig, but they have a website that is built for their seasonal deals,” she explained.

“Right now they’re running the Delta fall and winter deals. You can get round trip flights to Europe for $600 to $800, and to Hawaii for $500 or less,” Kamree emphasized.

She also recommended checking out Southwest for low fares. “Southwest is running a promo that ends on September 19th. So you have to book by the 19th, but you can get one way flights for as little as $49 each way,” Kamree explained.

Accommodation Options

For accommodations, Kamree suggested using Red Week, a platform where timeshare owners rent out their properties. “It’s almost like Airbnb, but for timeshares. You can rent somebody’s timeshare and enjoy all the amenities without the burden of ownership,” she explained.

Kamree likes to stick to properties she knows are good. “I know Hyatt Vacation Club is good, Marriott has consistently good properties,” she said.

Since you are renting out someone’s property, Kamree said to be aware of cancellation policies. “You need to decide if that works for you, but I find them to be very reputable,” she said.

Using Points

Kamree encouraged using points where possible to maximize savings. “If you can use points to buy those Delta flights, why not?” She has a free resource on her website to help you navigate using points to pay for vacation.
