Sleep podcasts might help you improve your sleep quality.
If falling asleep at night is a challenge for you, sleep podcasts might be the solution you need. With options for both adults and children, these podcasts can help turn your brain off and improve your sleep quality.
Podcast coach Andi Smiley shared some of her favorite sleep podcasts and explained why they work so well.
The Benefits of Sleep Podcasts
Andi highlighted the main advantage of sleep podcasts: they help you turn your brain off at night. She said, “My brain does not like to turn off. So, when I found sleep podcasts, it was like night and day difference. My sleep quality was so much better, and I fell asleep faster, so I got more sleep.”
4 Sleep Podcasts to Try
- Nothing Much Happens
This is Andi’s favorite sleep podcast, and she uses it several times a week to help her fall asleep. Kathryn, the host, writes stories that all take place in the village of Nothing Much. Each story is filled with super cozy details and minimal plot, which helps listeners fall asleep before the episode is even over. “If you fall asleep halfway through, you’re not missing anything. It’s just so cozy,” Andi said.
- Get Sleepy
Combining meditation and storytelling, Get Sleepy is a unique experience. Thomas, the host, leads the meditation. Then, you get to hear different people tell a cozy, sweet story every night. Andi explained, “The meditation is usually about 10 minutes long and just kind of gets your whole body ready for sleep. Then it has a story, a lot like Nothing Much.”
- Snoriezzz
A great sleep podcast for kids, Snoriezzz combines fun stories with meditations and affirmations. Each episode starts with affirmations, then tells a story, and ends with some grounding meditations. Some of the stories from their first season include: Little Bo Peep, The Three Little Pigs, and The Mermaid and the Whale. Andi noted, “It’s simple enough that your kids can handle it. Truly, my kids love this one because it just kind of lulls them off to sleep.”
- Bedtime History
For kids who love learning, Bedtime History offers historical stories that are both educational and relaxing. Some of Andi’s kids’ favorites include: Unsinkable Sam the Battleship Cat, History of Area 51 for Kids, and King Tut and Ancient Egypt for Kids. Andy shared, “My son loves this podcast. It doesn’t exactly put him to sleep, but it kind of lulls him into relaxation. He comes up the next day with the best facts from whatever podcast episode he listened to.”
