Chocolate Decadence Brownie

1 package (3.5 oz.) chocolate pudding mix, cook-n-serve kind
2 cups milk
1 package (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chopped nuts, optional
vanilla ice cream, optional

Using pudding mix and milk, prepare pudding according to package directions. Remove pudding from heat and stir in 1/2 the package of chocolate chips. Stir to melt chips. Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours (or see below for a warm treat).**

Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly spray 9×13 pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.

Combine sugar and softened butter, stir in eggs and vanilla. Add cocoa, flour and baking powder. Mix well. Stir in remaining chocolate chips and optional chopped nuts. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through. Cool.

Stir pudding until smooth. Spread on cooled brownie crust. Cut into 16 servings and serve with optional vanilla ice cream or a cold glass of milk.

** NOTE: Cool pudding to lukewarm and serve over warm brownie as a fudge sauce for a warm chocolate treat.
