Try a coastal look with your patriotic sewing projects.
As our summer celebrations continue, our focus shifts toward the patriotic. We take pride in representing the flag in clothing and décor.
Kris Thurgood says we can add a little Americana to almost anything with just a few scraps of fabric. It’s called the “Coastal Patriotic” trend, and this popular style creates an effortless look that is easy to DIY. Kris shares ways to apply your patriotism to every area this season.
The Coastal Patriotic look uses more of the washed out blues and reds and usually has raw, unfinished hems or edges.
Kris shows a few sewing projects to help you apply this look to your décor through handmade flags and pillow blanks, and even to your clothing with an applique approach.
