BACK TO BASICS

Learn basic cooking techniques-there are many more cooking techniques, but these are the ones you will use a lot!

SAUTÉ: cook quickly in small amount of fat

SEAR: brown quickly very high heat

SIMMER: food cooked gently in liquid at low temperature

STIR FRY: quickly fry small pieces of food in large pan over very high heat
