Since Valentine’s Day this year falls on a Sunday, it’s more important than ever that you pick up or order your special Cummings candy or chocolate-dipped fresh fruit on Friday or Saturday. Cummings Studio Chocolates will be closed on Valentine’s Day.
According to Chelsa Best (a great granddaughter of Victor Clyde Cummings—the man who founded Cummings Studio Chocolates), “As in years past, we have beautiful and delicious pre-packed Valentine boxes, or we can hand pack a box with your loved one’s favorites. We also have some special Valentine’s gifts this year, including
Valentine-shaped items, along with a wide selection of gift baskets. Of course, some of our most popular items for just about any special occasion are our famous chocolate-dipped fruit. While strawberries are highly sought after, we’re also dipping grapes, raspberries and mangos.”
Recently, Cummings Studio Chocolates opened a store in the southern part of the valley at Jordan Landing to complement its landmark store at 679 East 900 South. The address of the new store is 7689 South Jordan Landing Blvd. Suite 190 and is located between Target and Best Buy.
Cummings Studio Chocolates has consistently been recognized as among the finest chocolates in the country. It’s no surprise that people from across the nation ship Cummings Studio Chocolates to friends and family throughout the year, and especially during the holidays. For 85 years, this family-owned business has been a Utah institution.

Cummings Studio Chocolates was established in 1924 by Victor Clyde Cummings. According to Best, “My great grandfather, Victor, became interested in making chocolates while doing a cooking class in junior high school. He had taken the class to impress a girl. He never got the girl, but discovered that he enjoyed making candy. He would make chocolates in his basement for friends, who encouraged him to open a store.”
Victor’s son, Paul, and Paul’s wife, Marion, took over the business in 1969. When Paul passed away in 2000, Marion became the sole proprietor of Cummings Studio Chocolates.
