Decorating an Accessory Table

Angela Ingo, Designer and Founder of Imagine Cozy, shares tips for decorating an accessory table.

When decorating an accessory table there are four tips that are helpful:

1. Bring in some light

A lamp or some candles always adds a warm and inviting feel to your room.

2. Include an element of nature

This is where a green plant really makes a difference! You could also have a floral arrangement or a vase of fresh flowers.

3. Include an item that has personal meaning

This could be a framed photo, a figurine, or a clock. Something that you love.

4. Add some books

Everyone has a few books around, and they can be used to adjust the heights of other items on the table. Having a book on the table just makes the space feel more “Cozy”.

Next, a couple of design principles to remember:

>1. Group the items on your table in odd numbers, 3’s and 5’s work well.

2. Have the items on the table arranged in different heights. This is where the books can come in handy for elevating any item to a different height.

It is as easy as that! Have fun creating your own cozy space!

Angela Ingo has a degree in design and has always had a creative flair. She has pursued several different outlets over the years, including graphic design, handmade books, stained glass and framed leaf art which she sold in Park City. As the mother of three, she realized how important it was to have a cozy comfortable space to live in, and raise her family. So as a result, she researched and discovered that there are some simple design principles that anyone can use. And it does not matter what style you like or if you have a small apartment or a large home. You can take what you have already and make a space more cozy and comfortable.
