Make your next birthday celebration a disco party!
If 2025 is the year you’re turning the big 5-0, or even if it’s any birthday of your fabulous fifties, a disco-themed celebration is a perfect party to mark the occasion.
Risa Baker hit this milestone and made the most of it by channeling the 70s in style. She shares all the details that made this occasion special, and how you can copy any element for your own retro party.
Risa says there are five things to consider when planning a party of any theme to make it a success:
- Consider the venue – based on size of guest list, do you need to rent a venue or will your home work for what you want to accomplish?
- Create a big impact focal point – this can be a photo op, a backdrop, or even an entry table.
- Create ambiance – consider the music, lighting, and attire as you build a mood for your event.
- Theme the food – find foods to serve the support the theme. For the 70s party, Risa chose fondue and made that a focus of her celebration.
- Choose a color scheme – from attire to centerpieces and décor, a unifying color scheme will create a memorable impact.
