What’s better than French toast? How about a holiday version with (most) everyone’s favorite Christmas drink? This breakfast recipe puts a whole new spin on eggnog that we can’t wait to try.
Lindsey Hargett shares how to make French toast with eggnog. She shares how to tame it for those non-eggnog lovers, and how to serve it with a special buttermilk syrup.

Eggnog French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups eggnog
- 5 eggs
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 12 slices hearty white bread challah, Texas toast, or French bread
Instructions
Preheat an electric griddle to 350 degrees, or heat a large pan on the stove top to medium heat.
In a mixing bowl whisk together eggnog, eggs, nutmeg, vanilla extract and salt.
Pour mixture into a wide, shallow dish, and dip bread into mixture. Transfer to buttered griddle and cook until golden brown, then flip and cook opposite side until golden.
Top with fresh fruit, syrup, and whipped cream.
