Laser Blepharoplasty (baggy eyelids):
Many people suffer from sagging eyelids, usually because of genetics or aging. Most often, this is simply a cosmetic problem, but it may also impair vision. Everyone is familiar with the embarrassing situation when someone asks, “You sure look tired! Are you feeling all right?” when the person in question has had a perfectly sufficient amount of sleep. Fortunately, this situation doesn’t have to happen to you.
Laser eyelid surgery (also called Blepharoplasty or Bleph) uses a pulsed laser to remove excess skin, fat, and wrinkles, resulting in considerably less bleeding, bruising, post-treatment pain, and risk of scarring. No scalpel or scissor cutting is involved. The procedure is performed with mild oral sedation and local anesthesia.
Blepharoplasty, or laser eyelid surgery, is the perfect solution for sagging eyelids, and it is becoming increasingly popular at Gateway Aesthetic and across the nation.
Blepharoplasty can be performed without hospitalization or general anesthesia. Local anesthesia and oral sedation are used instead, providing great results with less risk and less downtime. In addition to removing skin and fat, laser blepharoplasty also reduces wrinkles!
Fraxel re:store DUAL:
This is our newest laser and it is amazing—great results with minimal recovery. It treats uneven pigmentation and mild to moderate wrinkles on the face and body.
What is Fraxel re:store DUAL laser treatment? A single laser uses two unique and distinct wavelengths of light, combined into one treatment to address multiple skin issues. According to Dr. Mark Taylor, “It’s the first new advancement in laser light wavelength to be used in laser skin resurfacing in over ten years.”
How does it work? The new wavelength (1927nm) treats a mix of sun damage, uneven pigmentation, precancerous spots, and mild to moderate wrinkles. The second light wavelength (1550nm) tightens pores and minimizes wrinkles and scars. Working together, these two light wavelengths achieve, in a single
laser treatment, outstanding improvements in your skin’s appearance, with results that are comparable to a medium light laser resurfacing procedure, but with half the downtime. This means you will be able to get resurfacing results with only 5 to 7days of partial downtime instead of 10 to 14 days of complete
Another big advantage with this dual laser treatment is a decrease in pain. The laser treatment can even be
performed with topical anesthetic, allowing patients to drive themselves to and from the clinic for treatment. The advantage is huge for people looking for an effective procedure with less discomfort, less recovery time, and fewer hassles. For some individuals, it may even be possible to return to work and a regular routine during the healing period.
The new Fraxel re:store DUAL laser treatment also decreases the risk of infection, scarring, pigmentation
change and other adverse effects that may occur with traditional resurfacing. The laser light’s wavelength
allows it to pass through the first layer of skin, treating issues below the surface in the skin’s upper dermis layer, but leaving the top layer to act as a natural bandage. With this approach, the laser is able to better neutralize uneven pigment, treat precancerous spots, and reduce fine wrinkles. As the treated skin regenerates, new and younger looking skin replaces the old, without ever exposing raw skin, as is the case with traditional resurfacing. The result is a more comfortable recovery, while still achieving significant improvement.
With the addition of the new Fraxel re:store DUAL laser, Gateway has added another marvelous laser instrument to its already extensive capabilities. Combination treatments with the new re:store DUAL laser and our existing technology provide a quantum leap in skin health and treatment, allowing you to maintain the “perfect you at every age.”
For many patients, the liquid face lift, also referred to as volumizing, is a welcome alternative to surgical methods due to its safety profile, affordability, and immediate gratification. Using a combination of dermal fillers and Botox, liquid face lift products and techniques can be used to restore and refine youthful facial contours for a healthier, younger-looking face. The eyes can be opened and the eyebrows lifted, natural shape can be restored to the flattened cheek area and temples, hollow cheeks can be augmented, the corners of the mouth can be lifted, and the appearance of jowls can be diminished .
Some of the common dermal fillers used to create the lift are Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, Radiesse, and Sculptra. Each of these dermal fillers has a unique characteristic that makes it appropriate for certain parts of the face. Restylane, Perlane, and Juvederm are made of hyaluronic acid. This is a natural substance that already exists in the human body. It hydrates the skin and adds volume to the skin to smooth out the wrinkles and folds. Perlane is thicker and has a larger particle size, allowing it to correct deeper wrinkles and folds.
The effects of these fillers are immediate and you don’t have to wait through a long healing process.
Treatment with Sculptra to restore facial volume, however, is more gradual. Two or three treatments are usually required, and the benefits become noticeable after about six weeks.
All of these fillers work by stimulating the build-up of the body’s natural collagen to smooth out lines and wrinkles. They also help to restore lost facial volume to give you a fuller, younger-looking face. Volumizing with dermal fillers is long lasting and looks very natural.
The liquid face lift treatment session is usually completed in one to two hours. After your treatment you
might have some redness, bruising, or swelling that will usually last for less than a week. We have products and recommendations to help minimize these potential side effects. With a liquid face lift from Gateway Aesthetic, it’s easy to take 5 to 10 years off your appearance by restoring youthful volume and erasing deep lines and folds that age the face. Call us at 801-595-1600 for more information on this revolutionary treatment option. We’ll help you reveal the most beautiful you, at every age!
