Girl Scouts’ 100th Anniversary & International Women’s Day Celebration

2012 marks the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA and they have
declared this year
as the Year of the Girl!

Erin Stone, Girl Scouts of Utah Board Member, shares details of an
upcoming celebration.

2012 marks the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA and we declare
this year
as the Year of the Girl! The actual birthday is March 12, 1912 – Utah Girl
Scouts will be celebrating on the State Capitol steps with our first ever all
female Honorary Troop on the Hill – Troop #1920. We have lots of
festivities planned throughout the entire year – including our upcoming
International Women’s Day Celebration

Part of our call to action is to close critical gaps in education, health
and wellness, and leadership.
When girls learn how powerful they can
be, our communities grow stronger. There’s never been a better time to be
a Girl Scout! We encourage the public to help us celebrate by joining,
volunteering, or supporting Girl Scouts of Utah. To learn how to get
involved, visit our web site www.gsutah.org or call us at (801)
