One of her healthy spring tips in the article is to jump rope. “Jumping rope is the ultimate workout because it’s aerobic and you engage almost every muscle in your body while you do it,” Melanie says. “Jumping rope also burns three times as many calories as walking.”
She also says finding ways to stand-up instead of sitting down will give you an instant energy boost. “Sitting burns 1.4 calories per minute, while standing burns 3.0 calories per minute,” Melanie says. “So look for more opportunities to stand-while you’re on the phone, in a meeting, even checking your e-mail.”
