Could lawn paint be the solution to yellow grass? We’ll let you be the judge…

With water restrictions already upon us, is it time to try lawn paint?

By Lauren Tippetts

As spring peeks it head out, we are already hearing of strict water restrictions across the state. You might be resigned to a yellow lawn all summer long, but we heard talk of an interesting solution. It’s a paint… for your grass. You read that right. Just swipe on the lawn paint and the grass really will be greener on the other side.

Grass Paint Concentrate, $29.95

If lawn paint is your way to green grass this summer, you’ll be pleased to know it’s safe for kids, pets, and plants. You might be skeptical about (among other things) how far a container of paint will go. This 32 oz container can cover 500-1,000 square feet, and lasts up to 100 days.

It’s not something we ever thought we’d consider, but lawn paint is out there, and will certainly turn yellow grass green – without watering. If your lawn will likely be dead this summer anyway, maybe it’s a good year to give your grass a fresh coat of  paint?
