Lifetree Free Health Fair

Lifetree Free Health Fair

Health issues affect us all. If we’re getting older, we worry about memory loss and what it might mean. If we’re younger, we’re worried about staying in shape.

Dr. Lynn Webster, Chief Medical Director of Lifetree Clinical Research explains how an upcoming free health fair can help answer questions.

Today 5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and every 69 seconds another American develops the disease. One of the most common signs of Alzheimer’s is memory loss. But most of us sometimes forget names or appointments. So, how do you know if it is typical age-related or more serious?

Dr Lynn Webster, Chief Medical Director of Lifetree Clinical Research, says an upcoming free health fair that they are hosting where you can take a memory test that will help you understand how well your memory is right now – as well as other health screenings.

Lifetree Clinical Research is hosting a free health fair on Saturday, April 30th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lifetree will provide free screenings for memory, blood pressure, blood sugar testing, cholesterol and Hepatitis testing. As mentioned, many people experience age-associated memory impairment. Dr. Webster said that memory testing can help you understand how well your memory is right now. Depending on your memory score, you may qualify for certain memory-related studies that we are now conducting. You will also have an opportunity to speak to Lifetree physicians at no cost, about your score and what options may be available for you or your loved one. Currently Lifetree is enrolling in an Alzheimer’s study, so this may be a good time for you to test your memory and while you are there test your blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and even risk for Hepatitis.

Lifetree will also have short seminars throughout the day. So, stop by any time for the free screenings, and/or plan on coming at a certain time to listen to the seminars. There will be 4 presentations throughout the day. At 10 a.m. a doctor will be speaking on Alzheimer’s – how to recognize it, what causes it, and treatment options. At 11 a.m. the presentation will be on Epilepsy, again helping people understand the conditions and how to care for it. At Noon Dr. Webster will be presenting on chronic low back pain and treatments available. And at 1 p.m. there will be a presentation on Hepatitis C. There are over 4 million people in the US with Hep C.

These presenting physicians will be available on-site for free consults, so you can stop by and talk with one of them. Angela Martindale, a well-known certified nutritionist, will also be on-site for nutritional counseling. She has provided training and nutritional coaching to countless models and celebrities and is a sought-after personal lifestyle coach, once in Hollywood and now she is back in Salt Lake. Angela was just named Utah’s Top Trainer by Healthy Utah Magazine. Come by and meet Angela and learn about her nutritionally balanced and healthy food!

The Health Fair is on Saturday, April 30 at the Lifetree Building, located at 3838 South 700 East in Salt Lake City. It will be from 9am – 2pm.
